I found this neat hand painted sign in an antique store! The Player’s Club of Toronto was, as far as I can tell, a 1920’s theatre group. It’s really great to see this kind of hand done design up close.

The Players Club was an offshoot of the Hart House theatre group at U of T. In the ‘20’s the artistic side of productions, - sets, costumes, bills etc., were handled by a succession of Group of Seven members - Harris, MacDonald, and Lismer. Commercial draftsmen that they were… it’s not inconceivable!
