Canadians

I’m working on a thing that deals with the idea of Canadian identity.  It’s a subject I love, because it’s always going to slip through your fingers, it is always close, and yet very, very far.

I have a copy of Bruce Hutchinson’s The Unknown Country sitting somewhere in this apartment to rummage through, and Roy MacGregor’s Canadians, which I enjoyed and have linked to before.  I think often of this piece that begins with a ride on Pierre Trudeau’s funeral train.  You can read the whole thing by clicking through here.
