I wrote to a person whose tumblr I follow, it’s an art blog with lots of interesting things on it, and it’s been written up in quite a few places as inspiring and wonderful!  There were often nudes on it, which is totally fine, but they were only ever nudes of young, slim white ladies.  

You know what can be beautiful art?  Any kind of body!  Young, old, any gender, any ethnicity, any size.  It’s tiring to follow art blogs that only see waify nude ladies as good art.  Gimme a break!  More variety please.

Anyway I got no response for writing about it but I did get blocked!  Put what you want on your own blog but you might look pretty narrow to some people.

I was directed to other tumblrs like Male Beauty in Art, which has some lovely stuff on it.  Got to even this out!  Feel free to suggest any you know of.

woop! edit: Just to be clear, it wasn’t an artist I wrote to, it was one of those general blogs that curates content from all over the place.  I didn’t tell them to change their ways, I asked why the body types chosen were all so similar. And they had a right to block me if they wanted to!  It’s their space.
