Teen consolidation: all the teens in one place-
I don’t do much with these characters on the whole, but I like them, they are fun to draw and write, and their ranks keep expanding. They are a little all over the place so here’s what I have on hand, though they often appear in sketchbooks, which would take some digging around. Hopefully you’ll see more of them, maybe they will evolve into interesting characters instead of singularly foul mouthed jerk bags. I like Joan, she is the newest and most pleasant.

This image seems pretty dubious to me! It looked like an example of what Seventeen magazine does when they photoshop pictures (which, come on, would be hilarious, since they photoshop away totally innocuous things. Flyaway hairs! Every girl’s nightmare), but I’m told it is an example of what they promise to do from now on. "Every kind of beauty,“ eh? Well shucks, color me skeptical!

Speaking of Depardieu, if you haven’t seen The Return of Martin Guerre, you are missing out on one of the best films set in the Middle Ages! And he is great in it. And everyone is great in it. The story it is based on is famous, and fascinating. And since we’re talkin’ G.D. you will probably see a post about the film Danton sometime even though I’ve made a comic about it and mentioned the film there too. BUT ANYWAY historical films are the best, yes? Yes.
Is there anything more adorable than Catherine Deneuve and Gérard Depardieu dancing together in Potiche? The answer is no and the answer is also see this film it’s pretty delightful. Here is the dancing clip, and here is a little review with a trailer.
We have some calendars debuting at San Diego! They will be available in general after that, of course. One has a literature theme and one has a more general theme.

Oh my gosh. It is the craziest and hottest day. But these two? They were so cute. Dad’s got it under control, got her hat, got her drink, she doesn’t even know it’s hot out. Later I saw them do that thing where the parent lifts the kid who is in full-on mid-run off the ground and just plunks them in a stroller. Anyway, kids are the best, and parents are the cutest.
