Why yes, I WAS looking up Founding Fathers to make my dumb comics!

Before you read this comic I want you to know that my favorite part of the tv show Sleepy Hollow is when Ichabod Crane has no idea what a tv or an iphone or a light switch is, and is confused. As hard hitting films such as Bill and Ted or perhaps Encino Man have taught us, historical figures out of place do not know who the Burger King really is. But do any of us really know who the Burger King really is? A question we must all ask.

I’m just kidding about “before you read this,” of course you read the comic first.

PS, have you seen 1776 The Musical? If you’ve been around here for two seconds, you know I have. Referenceeeesssss ho ho, yes gather ‘round my little nerds

an edit - I picked up a rogue A from some other spelling (?), though “Monturiol” is correct. You can depend on me to throw the wrong letter down when it counts!

'The Physiologue says that a hedgehog has the shape of a suckling piglet. On the outside it is entirely covered with spines. During the grape-gathering season the hedgehog enters the vineyard. And when it sees a good grape, it climbs up the vine and removes that grape in such a way as to make all the clusters fall onto the ground. Then it climbs down and rolls itself over them so that that all the grapes get caught in its spines This is how it brings food to its offspring.’

I just found this while reading about Tomasa Titu Condemayta, an Incan leader during the rebellion of Tupac Amaru II (1780-1783) in colonial Peru. She is notable also for leading a brigade of women soldiers. Everyone needs more of Tomasa’s story, no? I have watched this video… several times.

Heeyyy it’s been 2015 for nearly a few weeks now! So that’s it for printing these babies, we’re going to sell them till they’re all gone!

Research! Sometimes I post things I had on deck while researching to draw. Probably I don’t do that enough. I enjoy sports photos from the early 1900s a lot! These were for, of course, Tom Longboat.
