I just dropped off a load of original comics to The Beguiling. If you are interested in original art and you are going to San Diego Comic Con, you can fund my stuff with The Beguiling/D&Q at booth 1629!
After the show, the art will also appear on the Beguiling store website, along with what is already there.
So a while ago I was either watching a video on youtube or reading an article where someone was quoting Sojourner Truth, and I don’t even remember what the thing was, but in the comments section someone had written “look up her picture, she was OLD” and then they said something mean about her looks. I thought, I mean, it’s pretty amazing to accuse and dismiss someone born in 1797 for being old and not hot enough to listen to.

I wonder how many speeches ever made (outside of movies) have ever gotten anyone to do anything because I have never heard a speech irl that would even get me out of bed

Flankers from Oak & Arrow on Vimeo.
FlankersOn the eve of a storm in rural Newfoundland, feuding fishermen are forced to set their conflicts aside when an emergency arises. An atmospheric short film by Justin Oakey, starring Joel Thomas Hynes, shot in the communities of Ochre Pit Cove and Northern Bay (Conception Bay).
Since its premiere at the Atlantic Film Festival, Flankers has been invited to screen on four continents (and counting). This past weekend it received a People’s Choice Award at Newfoundland’s own Nickel Independent Film Festival. Now the entire film is available to view online.
Please watch, share, and help spread the word!

Today is publication day for The Princess and the Pony!
(haha thank you to Pen Ward for the amazing gif)
You can find the book online or.. anywhere! In a store in real life!
And remember we are having an official launch in Toronto on the 4th.
If you have the book and your little ones are into it, I have some printout drawing activities for them right here (link) in English and in French.

Things are ramping up! Got a nice review in the Guardian, nice nice review

Evolution of a princess!
Her name is Princess Pinecone, like a floral name, but just a little pricklier. The pony was always there in one shape or another, but the princess was new. I remember thinking the first one was maybe too “Katniss.” I still like the football eye-black paint smears. Ready to rumble! She started out looking older, and was aged down, into the relative shape of most of the things I draw, which is round.
It’s out in many stores right now, judging from my twitter feed. But officially it is out July 1!
